Six terror suspects arrested in Limuru

Police in Limuru arrested six terror suspects during the Rapid Results Initiative (RRI) conducted in the area.
Limuru Deputy County Commissioner Kangethe Thuku said the suspects were handed over to the anti terrorism police unit.
He said the suspects were assisting police with investigations.
He said they also profiled 93 ex-convicts and 97 ex-servicemen through chiefs and village elders in efforts to rein in criminal activities during the RRI exercise that took place in the last 90 days.
He said the ex-convicts and ex-servicemen were being monitored.
Limuru also formed 1630 clusters for Nyumba Kumi initiative to encourage crime identification and information sharing among residents, government officials and the police.
Each assistant chief would be the leader of Nyumba Kumi initiative in his sub-location.
“We have held 140 barazas in different parts of Limuru to make people understand Nyumba Kumi. It is not about the numerical figure, but sharing information on security among people living in one flat, going to one church or operating in one business area,” said Mr Kangethe.
Mr Kangethe gave the Limuru criminal report during a security meeting held at a church in Limuru. Area Deputy OCPD Isaiah Langat, chairmen of community policing groups and chiefs attended the meeting.
During the RRI, 30 litres of chang’aa, 23 litres of muratina, 161 rolls of bhang and 22 kilograms of bhang were netted.
Limuru will receive 37 motorcycles from the government to be issued to chiefs and their assistants to fight crime.
